CAL FIRE is the California State Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Wildfires occur routinely in this area (especially in Big Sur) and the Cal Fire website contains a wealth of information including current fire conditions and evacuations, safe wood burning practices, fire protection measures, burn permits, campfire regulations, etc. 

And, as for any emergency, You can also sign-up to receive emergency notifications by text from Alert! Monterey

Carmel Point is located in CAL FIRE's Cypress Fire Protection District 

To report a fire, dial 911. Otherwise, for local assistance with smoke and CO detectors, CPR and emergency response training, wildfire preparation, and news about fire incidents, consult the website

CAL FIRE Incident Reports (this is an example, the address will change with the incident report) - go to http://cdfdata.fire.ca.gov/incidents/ and search for fire location.
