Historical Code

There are homes on Carmel Point that may be considered historic and removal or remodeling them requires compliance with the historical building codes.  There are many local people interested in preserving buildings that may be historic and this issue often becomes highly public in this community.

Monterey County has adopted the 2013 California Historical Building Code, California Code of Regulations, Title 24, Part 8 as published by the California Building Standards Commission.
